I recommend adding two books to the list. First, ON WRITING by Stephen King. A masterpiece of writing advice. It it is one of a kind book that is part autobiographical and part writer to writer. The "story" about when King got poison ivy in a very inconvenient place on his body is the funniest thing I have ever read. Secondly, Chicken Soup for the Writers Soul by Jack Canfield, etal. Over 100 stories by well recognized authors who kept on until the made it. If you need encouragement, read a story a day. My copy of the book is almost threadbare. Can't remember the author of it, but I have a quote on my writing office wall: WRITERS KNOW THIS SECRET. IT'S NOT WRITING THAT IS HARD, IT IS SITTING DOWN TO WRITE THAT IS HARD. Write something today! Linda Bumpers

The writer of this article might do well to read a few as well, to wit: "The book was originally written by William Strunk who taught English at Cornell. After his death, E. B. White (author of Charlotte’s Web) was asked to revise the volume..."

How could EB White revise the volume after he was dead?

OH, you mean after William Strunk's death!
