Thanks for your comment, Margaret! Yes, perhaps this topic is so fascinating because we think if we imitate successful writers in some way, a little of their success will rub off on us. But it really isn’t the environment that makes the writer. Like Stephen King said, in the end if you want to be a writer, you have to write. There’s no way to get around that. Have you found that your writing workspace helps at all in your writing process? I know that I write faster and am more focused when I am in a distraction-free environment.

Yes, I’ve always reserved the early mornings for reading but I’m trying to change that and start the day with writing instead.

I find that I like to start writing in my room (the initial writing stages require a lot of concentration), but after I know the direction my blog post is taking, I can move my laptop anywhere.

When driving to my last mammogram appt. I got an idea to write
“Should you Fire your Divorce Attorney?” and jotted down the main ideas in the car.
While getting smashed in the mammogram machine, the title for my new article popped into my mind and I blurted it out much to the confusion of the tech assistant!
